Look for the bright yellow door on the west side of the building.

Do I need an appointment?

We prefer that you call ahead to schedule an appointment, as it will minimize your wait time. We are happy to see walk-ins, but cannot guarantee that they will be seen immediately.

What should I do if I have an emergency?

Come on in! We do ask that you call and give us a heads up, so we know what to expect and can prepare for any urgent needs your pet may have.

What should I bring to my appointment?

It really helps for us to have your pet’s previous records before their appointment; if you can’t send the records ahead of time, please bring them with you. For safety purposes, your pet should be on a leash or in a crate. If your pet is due for fecal testing, they will really appreciate it if you can bring a fresh sample with you!

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks (no starter checks, please), all major credit cards, Care Credit. Apple Pay, Google Wallet, Samsung Pay, and Android Pay. Payment is due in full at the time the service is rendered. We do not offer individual financing.

Do I really need to give my pet heartworm prevention all year long?

Yes! Heartworm disease is very common in the Gulf South and, left untreated, is often fatal. Monthly prevention is easier and more affordable than putting your dog through heartworm treatment. There is no definitive treatment for cats with heartworm, though they can be managed medically so that they can have an otherwise normal life.


My cat never goes outside. Does it really need heartworm prevention?

Yes! All it takes is one bite from an infected mosquito to transmit heartworms to your pet. If your cat escapes the house or even goes outside briefly, they can be exposed. And, don’t forget, this is south Louisiana – mosquitos get inside all the time.

Which preventative is the best?

That depends on your pet’s lifestyle and your family’s needs. We will be happy to discuss the options with you and help you choose the most appropriate one.

You have prescribed this medication in the past. Why does my pet need to be rechecked for a refill?

A pet’s needs can change over time. We need to check periodically to make sure the medication is still needed, and the the dose is still appropriate. Furthermore, we are legally required to have a valid Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (VCPR) to dispense and renew prescribed medications. This means your pet must be seen annually (or more frequently) to keep current.

Does my pet need pre-anesthetic labwork?

Even the best physical examinations have their limitations. Labwork allows us to have a fuller picture of your pet’s health before we anesthetize them and take them to surgery. Depending on what we find, we may adjust the anesthetic protocol or even postpone anesthesia in order to protect your pet’s best health.

The American Association of Feline Practitioners website is a great resource for cat owners.


The Fear Free initiative helps train vets and owners to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress in their pets’ daily lives and at the hospital.
